Envoi de vêtements et de matériel en Indonésie

Plusieurs personnes ont pensé, ici même, dans les semaines qui suivaient le drame, qu'une collecte de vêtements et de couvertures en faveur des victimes du raz-de-marée d'Asie du Sud-Est n'était pas justifiée, que « ce n'est pas de ça dont ils [avaient] besoin… ».

Afin de leur répondre, voici les lignes que la Mission Permanente de la République d'Indonésie auprès des Nations Unies écrivait le 24 janvier 2005 :

« Surat ini dibuat untuk memohon bantuan kemudahan dan hal-hal yang dianggap perlu untuk pengirirnan barang-barang natuan untuk korban cencana Tsunami di Aceh, Indonesia.

« Barang-barang tersebut berupa pakalan anak-anak dans dewasa, obat-obatan, alat penunjang kebersihan, handuk, dan sellmut. Bantuan tersebut berasal dari berbagai pihak anggota masyarakat dan Sekretariat Kantor PBB di Jenewa. (…) »

AID FOR THE TSUNAMI VICTIMS IN INDONESIA

I herewith kindly request the help and cooperation of all persons/officials concerned in facilitating all operations related to the convoyence or forwarding of this consignment with a view to speeding up the delivery of essential aid and relief supplies to the victims of the tsunami in Aceh, Indonesia.

The consignment consists of the following :

Clothes (for children and adults); Medical and first aid supplies; Blankets; Towels; Sanitary supplies. (…)

Nous sommes heureux d'être parvenus à leur fournir ces vêtements pour enfants et adultes, quelques cartons de matériel de premier secours et des couvertures.
